I cannot recall the last time that Hannah and Adam attended the Salt Lake Highland Games with me. I think, at least in Hannah's case, it may have been in 2004, when I took this picture of Nathan, Hannah, Rachel, Esther and Aaron:
On Saturday, I was able to go with seven of my children, along with Cary (my son-in-law) and Nutella. Every year, I wonder why I go; but every year, there seems to be something special about the outing that makes it memorable. This year, it was the presence of the older kids, along with Cary and Nutella. Cary is intensely proud of his Stewart Scots-Irish ancestors, but this was his first highland games, and that made the trip special, too. It was a fun outing.
